(Charlotte, NC) has been named to the Men's All-South Region First Team.
The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) has announced that Junior, Alyssa Rogers, (Houston, TX) has been named to the Women's All-South Region Second Team.
Jacob is the first player in five years to be named to the NCCAA Men's All-South Region First Team, in his first year at VUL. It was a unanimous vote. He averaged 28 points against teams in the South Region. Against rival Paine College, he scored a total of 60 points in two games. Against Clinton College he scored 59 points in two games. Against Division I schools he averaged 15 points per game. He averaged 18 points per game for a total of 286 points. His two highlights of the season were 22 points against Radford University and 29 points at Paine College Homecoming. In the NCCAA, Jacob is 16th in scoring in the country.
Alyssa in her first year at VUL was named NCCAA Women's All-South Region Second Team. She averaged 14 points per game with a total of 245 points. One of her highlights of the season was scoring 15 points against Division I Auburn University. Her highest point game was 25 points against CIAA rival Virginia Union. In the NCCAA, Alyssa is 17th in scoring in the country.
