Javaughn Colbert is a native of Washington DC. Coach Colbert was educated in Washington County, Chesterfield, and Prince George’s County Public Schools. He has engaged in further study at Liberty University with further work done at Virginia University of Lynchburg. Coach Colbert began his coaching career at Liberty Christian Academy and later became the head boys’ basketball coach at Timberlake Christian Schools for six years. Coach Colbert has across the years effectively trained numerous basketball players and worked with three different AAU programs. Coach Colbert for two years served as a liaison for the Sports Empowerment Basketball Camp in Lynchburg that hosted players like Ben Wallace, Johnny Newman, and the Virginia Union University NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball National Championship Team. Coach Colbert has participated and trained at the 10th Annual Denykco Bowles Basketball Summer Camp in Nassau, Bahamas which hosted Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. Coach Colbert is an ordained minister that is incredibly prepared to mentor student athletes to experience success in the classroom and on the court of basketball competition.
